In light of the increasing spread of COVID-19, I wanted to take moment to reach out to you with some information about the steps we are taking to ensure everyone is healthy and protected.
The team behind Five Little Diamonds consists of just myself and my seven year old daughter, and we work hard to provide you with an excellent level of service. One of the perks of being a small business is there is a much smaller likelihood of contamination. However, as the Coronavirus gains traction, picking and packing will be done by just myself (in the past my daughter has loved helping to wrap orders, but for the time being this will stop) and I will be sanitising my hands and work area before each shift to prevent contamination of products.
Orders can be placed and will be shipped every Monday and Thursday via Royal Mail, unless a situation of self-isolation occurs, in which case we will further notify you on when you can expect your order to be shipped.
We use Click and Drop, and post via the local Royal Mail depot, which is a two minute walk from our office. This limits the amount of human contact we potentially have to just one person, behind the window. I'd just like to personally thank the team at the Halstead Royal Mail Depot for all their amazing work and strength during this tough time, and enabling small businesses like us to carry on as best as we can.
If you are concerned about receiving parcels in the post, please don't be. Public Health England (PHE) has advised that people receiving parcels are not at risk of contracting the coronavirus.
In this uncertain world, we would like to ask that you don’t forget the little guys like us. Every order you place with us helps me to feed and clothe my girl, and generally keep us afloat. The bigger companies and chains can cope with a loss of income. Small businesses like ours and many others cannot, and over the next few months quite a few businesses you loved will probably close (internet) doors for the last time. We are doing all we can (professionally and personally) to ensure that others around us are safe and healthy. Every order you can place is so appreciated (I do a little dance every time one comes through!), and really who isn’t cheered up by toys?!
